Michael F. Oberwegner is Managing Partner at Chaberton Partners Executive Search in Germany.
He brings over 20 years of experience in client facing and senior leadership roles in the top executive search firms, in Germany and internationally. He has extensive expertise in strategic leadership advisory, with a focus on mid-sized, large prominent family and private equity-owned companies.
Michael has a proven track record in successfully building and leading executive search teams, cultivating long-lasting client relationships by guiding leaders and organizations through critical executive transitions and tech driven business transformation. His work spans across industries where business models and leadership are heavily impacted by technology, innovation, and the power of deep tech.
Michael joined us from Kienbaum Consultants International, the leading German human capital advisory firm, where he was Managing Director for Executive Search and the International Advisory business. Prior to that, he served as Managing Partner for Central and Eastern Europe (comprising Germany, Switzerland, Austria, and Poland) at Heidrick & Struggles, following 5 years at Russell Reynolds. He started his career in house in HR at Apple, where he moved up to the role of Head of HR, Europe.
Michael holds a Degree of Laws from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, a Degree in Economics from Hochschule St. Gallen and a Master of Business Administration from Stanford University. His educational background complements his strategic and international perspective in leadership advisory.
With Italian origins, he is a German native and fluent in both German and English.
